It’s been some time since my last post, but that’s because I’ve had several back-to-back photography gigs over the past month. From food to music to nonprofit, I’ve gotten a good run for my money during the months of October and November!

Plus, I have an extremely exciting announcement coming up…but more on that later.

After flying home from California and the Send Silence Packing Tour, I slept for a few hours and then drove upstate for a friend’s birthday party and potluck. After that it was back down to the city for dim sum with another dear friend, then a long gig with the Food Network. I was delighted to be the studio photography for Kelsey’s Essentials: Season 3. Working 14-hour days was interesting, but the lovely host, my old bosses, and most of the staff was great. As was the food. Ah, the food…I was not shy, let’s just put it that way.

Immediately following that was a gig with my very talented friend, an up-and-coming drummer. You can hear some of her music at http://www.colleenclarkmusic.com/.

After editing Food Network photos for 10 days, I traveled down to D.C., met up with several friends, and then joined the folks at Active Minds for their 8th National Conference. I did photography for the whole conference, but really enjoyed meeting all the employees I’d never gotten to meet before the California tour started. The students–who came from all over the country, and even Canada–were really smart students who are working to make a difference in the world of mental health.

All in all, I’ve had a busy month. After two Thanksgiving dinners and little time to rest, I feel a bit like resting, but I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon. Why? I have a big announcement coming. Big news, and yes, travel is involved. Why wouldn’t it be?

Enjoy some photos from the last few gigs, and you’ll be hearing from me soon.

Photos taken in Hanoi, Halong Bay, Vietnam, and Alaska, USA

Photo captions below, by number:

(1) A fruit peddler of the portable nature.

(2) The view after emerging from a couple of very large caves.

(3) Boating off into the sunset.

(4) Dusk.

(5) Not a bad sight to wake up to.

(6) Traffic in Hanoi. And you thought Jersey drivers were bad…

(7) Maybe this is why I now crave fresh vegetables.

(8) “The Smoking Minister” … actually, he’s not a minister at all, but that’s my title for this photo, and I’m sticking with it.

(9) What the eep is this, you ask? G???c. What is that? A cucumber-related fruit. I have no idea what it tastes like. Never got the chance. Next time?

(10) Inside a giant cave…terrible photo, but you can see the scale by identifying tiny people at the bottom of the light hole. No, they’re not midgets.

(11) Now THAT is a real houseboat.

(12) My friend G-dogg pointed out that my hair happens to follow the curves of the mountain in back. I didn’t even notice until she told me!

(13) Regulations have asked that I not post the actual photo. Available upon private request.

(14) I’m on the plane going home…no more rice! But wait, you haven’t yet seen the riceburger. Asia’s version of the KFC Double Down. The rice IS the bun. As for the inside, I’ll let your imagination run wild.

(15) Hmmm….do I want reindeer over noodles or in a bun? Decisions, decisions. Nothing like a li’l local food in Alaska!

(16) Sunrise over Alaska.

(17) I flew over a blue glacier and then saw this beautiful site on the way home.
